For the month of October, the New York Institute for Special Education is participating in Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month.  Art Beyond Sight is organized by The Art Education for the Blind, it recognizes art education and exposure to the arts for students who are blind and visually impaired. Here at the institute we create art curriculum that fosters sensory awareness and literacy development for students with vision loss.  We are firm believers that combining art with other subjects is essential for enhancing the educational development of our students through an understanding of art, aesthetics and applying it to a variety of subjects. We hope you take a moment to view and enjoy some of the wonderful work created by our students.
